Deifying Discipline: Seeing Christ and the Church in the sermons of John Keble
Father George Westhaver of Pusey House, UK is treating us to a paper entitled, “Deifying Discipline: Seeing Christ and the Church in the sermons of John Keble” on Thursday, June 25th at 10am. Father Westhaver has provided us with two sermons to consider ahead of the talk which provide some insight into Keble’s approach.

A native of Nova Scotia, Fr. George read for a Master of Divinity degree at Wycliffe College Toronto before being ordained in the Diocese of Ely and serving parishes there, as well as serving as an Assistant Minister at St. Michael at the North Gate, Oxford, and as the Chaplain of Lincoln College. He served in the Diocese of Nova Scotia & PEI before becoming the Principal of Pusey House, Oxford, in 2013. Fr. George completed a PhD at the University of Durham under the supervision of Professor Andrew Louth, on E. B. Pusey’s unpublished lectures, ‘Types and Prophecies of the Old Testament’. His research interests include E. B. Pusey and the Oxford Movement, the allegorical interpretation of the Bible, and the artistic expression of Christian doctrine. He is married to Karen and they have two daughters, Clara and Charlotte.
