alongside a selection of psalms and the Epistle of St James.

"The reasoning relates to Dante. In Paradiso 25 Dante meets St James, who questions him on the nature of hope. Beatrice states of Dante that “there is no child of the Church Militant so full of hope”, and Dante goes on to explain to St James that the roots of this hope in him lie in his reading of the psalms and the Epistle of St James.”
